  What's the Matterhorn Circle ?

We are a small group of modelers organizised as a circle as part of the IPMS Switzerland. Current we are - and in the future will be a handful of nine members. Our goal is, to make accurate scalemodels, and participate on the Swiss Nationals, the "Basle Model-Days" and other events. The members are Urs (President), Alberto, Geri, Mike, Nicolas, Peter, Robert,  Rolli, Stephan and Urs S..

I'm nearly fifty years old, have a family with two great boys and work as a photographer in the advertising business. Like most of us, I started modelling at a very early age, but I cannot say exactly how early. I remember me and my brother going to the toyshop and buying a Hellcat from a brand called Lindberg. I also remember the finished model looking like Hellcat, so it must be considered an instant success. Later I bought myself a kit of the "Bismark" in 1:1200 because it had the best "guns-per-pocket money ratio". Inevitably this construction ended up as an unrecognisable blob of glue. My adolescence was signified by an adventure called Airfix. They were cheap, good and always available. Today I try to specialise in aircraft, scales 72nd and 48th. Normally I get fascinated by a certain subject, like i.e. soviet jets, I read a lot of books about it, build a small number (3-5)of examples and then pass on to my next subject. At present I have about 45 finished models. This number will remain nor or less constant as I have a morbid desire to destroy my older ones at about the same rate as I finish new ones....

Robert Schneider
Here's the story - I got infected at the age of 6. Since then, I haven't developed a desire to cure myself from this virus plasticus affliction. As I'm about to turn 44, my interest is focused on aircraft. I suffered a period, when I only build 1/72 scale jets, but I managed to widen my horizons thereafter. One of my all time favorite subjects is the F-4 Phantom II. For this reason this is my first scale model to go into my personal folder....

Sinuhe is an  ex-pat SA'can and ardent SAAF fan living in voluntary exile in the Alps, who tries to devote as much time as work permits to establishing a decent SAAF collection again, and re-establishing old ties in the process. A recent interest is the SAF (Swiss AF), especially the early pre-WW2 years and subsequent skirmishes with the Luftwaffe, a rather neglected subject. His preferred scale is 1/48, although he appreciates the recent resurgence of 1/32 and larger scales - and will if need be, also build 1/72 scale
